The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984)

Two cousins growing up in Little Italy form a plan to steal $150,000 and place a bet on a 'sure-to-win' horse in the hopes of making some cash. The robbery has them flirting dangerously with the mafia and the cousins find themselves in over their heads.
